College Panel- August 22, 2017
Posted Aug 3, 2017

The Napa Soccer Academy will be partnering with iSOCCERPATH to deliver a panel of college coaches to help guide the players towards being a student athlete. On August 22, 2017 at the Napa Valley College from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm the Napa Soccer Academy and iSOCCERPATH will have a panel of college soccer coaches talk to the players and families.

According to Gabe Rood (Director of Coaching), "The Napa Soccer Academy feels we need to educate the players and families about the process of becoming a student athlete. It goes way beyond just being a good soccer player or winning games. It is about understanding the pathway and doing the right things to reach the next level. The whole reason we started the Napa Soccer Academy was to help young soccer players move onto higher levels of play. Since moving to Napa 5 years ago, I have been shocked and saddened that hardly any players have moved on to play college soccer. The Napa Soccer Academy intends to change this and I'm convinced we will be successful in helping players move on to play in college. The Napa Soccer Academy has seen so much success with helping players reach a higher level at the younger age groups: PDP, State Team, National Team, MLS Academies, European training opportunities, etc... that the next logical step is to help the players move on to college, as they get closer to graduating from high school. This will be our second educational college talk with players in less than three months and we have many more exciting college opportunities planned in the next few months."

Napa Soccer Academy Team's qualify for the Champions League (NPL)
Posted Mar 21, 2017

 Congratulations to the 2002 and 2003 Napa Soccer Academy Teams!

The 2002 and 2003 teams have qualified for the Champions League (highest division of play) of the Nor Cal Premier League's National Premier League (NPL). The 2002 and 2003 teams qualified for the Champions League by placing 2nd and 3rd place respectively in the NPL Fall Season. The top 8 teams in Northern California League will battle it out to determine the champion of the Nor Cal Premier Leagues NPL division.  The winner of the Nor Cal Premier League's NPL will qualify for the NPL Finals, where the winners of each of the NPL leagues around the country will meet to crown the NPL National Champion.

About the NPL:

The NPL was created to elevate and change the competitive youth soccer landscape by extending developmental principles espoused by U.S. Soccer into more age groups and clubs, by linking competition with player development and identification platforms, and by providing meaningful weekly competition culminating in the NPL Finals.

NPLs are independent leagues, unified under one national competition platform, and based on a common technical framework designed to improve long-term player development. The NPL provides a platform:

  • focused on long-term player development;
  • for the country’s top soccer clubs, allowing consistent, meaningful high-level games appropriately scheduled with higher training-to-game ratios;
  • that allows players to be scouted and evaluated by U.S. Soccer National Staff and Technical Advisors;
  • that is designed and structured by the clubs, based on the needs of the clubs; and
  • that provides an avenue for qualification for the NPL Finals.
